CEDIA 2011 Coverage

Theta Digital

Theta had the Casablanca III HD SSP and Compli-Blu universal Blu-ray player on display. In addition to the already announce Dirac Live room correction update, Jeff Hipps told me they are working on a new digital processing board to remove the current limitation which requires downsampling the digital inputs to 48kHz, and to increase the number of channels from 12 to 18. In addition, new DAC boards are in the works. The good news is that the new boards will be field-upgradable, eliminating the need to send your CBIII back to Theta, that is provided you have a local dealer capable of performing the upgrade.
