AmpsandSound, a leading designer/manufacturer of high performance desktop personal audio headphone amplifiers, two-channel tube audio amplifiers, and horn loudspeakers, announced that their Hudson and Seneca horn-loaded loudspeakers, and Agartha headphone amplifier will be on display at the 2016 T.H.E. Show Newport in Irvine, CA, from June 3rd- June 5th, 2016.

Making their official debut at T.H.E. Show Newport, the $30,000 Hudson, and $20,000 Seneca horn-loaded loudspeakers offer state-of-the-art studio quality sound reproduction in domestically produced room-friendly designs. Both loudspeakers implement modern large horn geometry, and cutting-edge crossover design and driver selection.

Both the Hudson and Seneca were designed to fit into most living spaces without dominating the room. The loudspeakers utilize modified elliptical tractrix midrange horns, high-efficiency compression drivers, and direct radiating woofers. Both loudspeakers are finished in a high-gloss furniture-grade finish making them a focal point of any room in which they are positioned.

Designed to fit into most living spaces and offer reference studio-quality sound, the Hudson are a partial horn-loaded three-way loudspeaker system that offer the dynamic capabilities and presence of much larger horns; the Hudson are fast, accurate, delicate, yet offer the dynamic range and scale of much larger designs with lower levels of distortion. The results provide the best balance of life-like bass, speed, efficiency, tonal accuracy, and the realism of live music.

Show attendees will be able to experience the Hudson in Suite 234, in a system powered by McIntosh, VPI, AudioQuest, Sonic Studio, and Airist Audio. Private demonstrations may be arranged. Please contact us to arrange for a specific time during the show.

The Seneca

Inspired by the flat response and dynamic range of some of the world’s best studio monitors from JBL, and TAD, the Seneca recreates what the artist originally intended through the use of a 15” direct radiating woofer, and 2” Beryllium compression driver mated to an elliptical tractrix horn.

Its compact size allows it to be installed in small rooms and minimize room interactions. The front-ported Seneca offers dynamic range, life-like scale, and tonal accuracy which will appeal to audiophiles who desire all of the positive attributes of horn-loaded designs but without the issues of size and room interaction which are inherent to many products.

The Seneca features a state-of-the-art, hand-wired crossover network, utilizing high-order filters, and minimal driver overlap, through use of large air-core inductors for low signal loss.

The large CNC-cut midrange horn utilizes a hybrid tractrix flare, and provides the ability to control horizontal dispersion and limit vertical dispersion to reduce room interaction. The midrange horn is mated to a 2” large-format midrange compression driver with a beryllium diaphragm. The Seneca offers an intimate, and accurate presentation of the the musical signal it is fed; tonally accurate, yet detail rich and extremely fast-sounding.

Show attendees will be able to experience the Seneca in Suite 235, in a system powered by Pass Labs, AmpsandSound, AudioQuest, and Sonic Studio. Private demonstrations may be arranged. Please contact us for a specific time.
